John Paiva is starting a Christmas Four Seasons Tribute Band and he sent us this photo of them!! He said …”I wish you all a wonderful Christmas time and a super slide into the New Year. 2011...... HERE WE COME!!” Lynn Boleyn, Ray Nichol, George Ingram, Ken Charmer and I also add ourselves to this wish from John.And special ‘Seasons Greetings’ to all, from me Casey and the gang (The gang? – our ‘music detectives’ – a band of little helpers just like Santa has, who seek out and send me ‘Seasonal’ goodies to use in this blog and our articles- hey guys and gals….you know who you are !!)
The premier performance of the guys who are “More Than A Tribute Band” has now become a promo video for our NEW favourite group.The Hit Men. Confusing times for Four Seasons fans as we now have ex-Four Seasons performing ‘live’ as well as Frankie Valli and ‘his ‘Four Seasons touring with their oldies show. So whose is the most authentic version of ‘Who Loves You’?. Well. Don Ciccone’s lead is very much like the original demo he did for the track in late 1974 which we recently discovered on CD.

And for fans of the current line-up of American legend Frankie Valli and his young-fit-dancing Seasons they have a NEW CD coming out next year of Frank Sinatra standards done accapela ...supposedly sounds like the Hi-Los. If it is as good as this it will be great. Of course we bet Frankie is trying to sound as good as this lead singer!.
And news of unreleased tracks at Motown continues to surface so watch out for our update in the New Year.
But as we all prepare ourselves for the holiday, sadly we heard tragic news from Charles Calello….”I just found out that Bob Crewe had a terrible accident. He fell down a flight of stairs at this brothers house and broke his back. I'll try to get more info for you ASAP.”
Obviously our thoughts and best wishes go out to Bob and his family and we hope he makes a full recovery.
