We're big fans of Geoff Wardle and his team at Art Center Pasadena, California. His team is running an ambitious summit from 7th to 8th February 2007 that aims to develop a protocol that will help to form fresh design patterns for future mobility systems. The context right now - global concerns around climate change and congestion, angst about oil dependence and a creeping realisation in the auto industry that their business model is in trouble - create a really unique opportunity for innovation.
The likes of Art Center could start to lead the auto industry (and others) into new areas - and they are keen to rise to the challenge. The event is a who's who in future movement and represents a nice cross section - BMW's Chris Bangle, Segway's Dean Kamen, Amory Lovins of the Rocky Mountain Institute and many more.
Check out the dedicated website here. It's invitation only but they're smart guys and if you've got something important to say I think they'll be interested. A pre-summit full day event is open to everyone on 6th too. Come and talk to us if you go.
