Parking is my thing. Very sad though it might be, I spent the best part of three years at the RCA looking at the impact of the car on urban planning and lifestyles, and came to the - frankly earthshattering - conclusion that it isn't congestion that's the big problem when it comes to cars in the city, it's parking.
Well now a new competion, sponsored by Nissan - and it's dubiously self-styled 'urban proof' Qashqai, would like you to have a go at reinventing urban parking. 'Thinking outside the parking box' asks entrants to challenge traditional urban parking to be tougher and stylish - which quite frankly sounds like a terrible waste, so we suggest you enter with something that challenges traditional urban parking, full stop. Apparently, as part of your entry you need to include some element of the Qashqai, but luckily, you only have to include a hub cap, or wheelnut or something, and not the entire car, which should leave plenty of room to get truly creative on the whole parking thing. We're going to give it a go too, so watch out for a future blog with our own entry (spoiler - it won't win!), but for now, you've got until the 27th September.
